International contemporary Dance Festival - 4rd edition
A Caranas 108 project within Co.R.D.I.S iniziatives

Movimenti in tempo 2008 - Sardegna chiama Catalogna

Caranas 108 presents the new edition of its biennial festival of contemporary dance MovimentInTempo, open to innovative works, and to the crossing and sharing of ideas, needs and creative styles.

In this spirit, and believing in the need to look at European artistic creation, the MIT festival, now at its fourth appointment, once again centres its attention on those countries where contemporary dance is particularly young.

After the latest edition, dedicated to Slovenia, this year the guest country will be Catalonia, one of the most lively and interesting regions of the Mediterranean area, where in the last few years contemporary art has found rich soil and artists have been able to undertake a research that allows them to experiment and develop original creative styles.

The aim of our project is to offer a place for confrontation, encourage encounters between the authors who share the nature of contemporary creation, and build a bridge towards artistic realities that experiment new ways to promote projects, cultures and ideas.

All of the works we have chosen for this edition, although different from each other, express an aspect of the variegated reality we decided to explore: from the epochal Mal Pelo company, this time represented by Maria Muñoz with her solo Bach (Italian national opening), to the young Sonia Gomez, who presents a bold, ironic and moving piece together with her mother; from the intense and enthralling dance of Jordi Cortes and Damian Muñoz, to the sophisticated and intimate one of the Raravis company, to the severe research of a young Sardinian author, Alessandro Carboni, and finally to the dry and essential meditation on waiting proposed by Caranas 108 with Da lì a qui. Six works that confront with the transversality of languages and influences; six works that express, although in different ways, a contemporary aesthetics, a strain towards the collective, towards today's mankind en route to the future.
