MovimentInTempo is a rendezvous with "other" contemporary dance, contaminated and permeated with different languages (video, slides, performances) and comes back every other year. Our small festival has improved: more artists and shows, bigger stage, from the evocative space of the Ghetto to the more traditional stage of the Piccolo Auditorium, needed to welcome elaborate performances and larger troupes; we moved from "underground" artists to internationally-famous guests, as the American Davis Freeman and the Portuguese Lilia Mestre, as well as protagonists of the Italian scene, like Alessandra Fazzino, winner of the Prize Scenario 2003 together with Giuseppe Cutino, or Eugenio De Mello, art director of the dance section of the Comuna Baires of Milano.

While the theme of our past edition was the universe of feminine, this year the common denominator of scheduled performances is identity, with the full range of its challenges facing relationships (Fazzino), dealing with a new city (Freeman/Mestre), encountering death (Toma), coping with a multitude of possible choices (De Mello), standing up to society (Caranas 108).

The subtitle of this festival is "Between north and south". Al guests' subjects revolve around these two, not just geographic, poles: from the Mediterranean area of Alessandra Fazzino, Sicily, and Caranas 108 dancers who are from Cagliari, to the double roots of Barbara Toma, Apulia, moving then to Amsterdam and Milano, and Davis Freeman, America and Belgium as country of adoption, directing Portuguese Lilia Mestre, together with Eugenio De Mello who left Brasil for northern Italy.
